Learn to be Content

“I have learned how to be content.” Php 4:11 NLT

When you aim to grow personally and achieve things in life, these are commendable goals. But when you covet what someone else has or want to be just like them, you’re entering into territory that’s forbidden by Scripture. Contentment does not mean you should become complacent or settle for mediocrity and fail to achieve your God-given potential in life. Not at all! You’re supposed to work to improve yourself, while at the same time remaining totally dependent on God (See 2Co 3:5). Self-sufficiency means to be “sufficient in one’s self” instead of putting your faith in God’s assistance. Contentment, on the other hand, is to know with certainty and firm conviction that God is able to meet your every need (See Php 4:19). When you understand that truth, you don’t have to covet anyone else’s position, property, possessions, or personality. Why? Because you’re assured that all you presently have, and all you are today, is more than enough in the hands of God. Whatever you need to do to fulfill His will, you can do, not in your own strength but in the strength and power of Christ who dwells within your innermost being. Covetousness comes to us all naturally, but contentment must be learned. Paul writes: “I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength” (Php 4:11-13 NLT).

FOR ALONE I CAME

Here is only nights and signs For alone I came And alone I shall go Go in, that home; Where the cross stood tall To tell my rooftop. For alone I came And alone I shall go But you shall follow And so shall every man Who shut my only door. The Angel of darkness Is that my happiness? My belly boys play with pain For none knows my return And know not their turn. Who will fuel my 'keteke' Here is only nights and signs My neighbours cannot hear; The sound of my tears For alone I came. Where are my servants? I cannot take my plate of cake I cannot reign my days of grace For alone I came And alone I shall rest in peace.   : written by  Afrikaba Kwesi SUMMARY OF COMMENTARY : for alone i came and alone i shall go This poem is one of the amazing ones that has a deep touch of sorrow and inspires the living. It unfolds two contradicting scenes; BIRTH AND DEATH. The speaker in the TITLE was alive and indicated where she was going; 'THAT HOME' ...

THE JOURNEY OF PURPOSE - your role in the plans to the destination ( pt.1 cont. )

Define the the Destination, - that's the purpose of the journey. The most influential books written about life, success and human development from diverse Authors across the globe, have always focus on the journey rather than the destination. The journey is the most important part of our life, and it's through the journey, we may discover the precious gifts of our lifetime. The more reason why many people; especially life coaching specialists, motivational speakers and authors talk less on the destination is that: in the course of the journey, plans may change. You might end up in a different destination. It may perhaps, compromise your dynamics. Another reason is that, life is somehow a journey with no destination. ( case 1 ): It's just like saying " I needed a mango to eat, on my way I got some oranges, therefore I'm OK.". Here we can conclude to say; the orange met my needs, may be ( hunger ), but that's isn't my specific need, ( taste ). ...

In this press, thanks to its source; a patriotic citizen, Afrikaba Kwesi Frimpong www.frimponggilbert.blogspot.com A common blogger, but making a difference in the Ghanaian history. In Ghana, politics is now a business and it's now the fastest growing sector in our economic dispensation. However, Government has become the market place for politicians who invest in this corrupt business.
